The Knauf Safety Standard provides binding instructions for all management staff to ensure comprehensive health and safety protection. Its main components include definition of responsibilities and areas of responsibility, regulations for risk assessment, measurement of the effectiveness of work protection measures, emergency planning, or the content of training programmes for employees.

The Knauf Safety Standard already meets the OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) standard, which has become established as the recognised standard for exemplary occupational health and safety for companies in more than 80 countries. Application of the Knauf Safety Standard will be gradually extended to all locations.
